So Long

by Amber Lyssis
(London)

The thought, the glare, that putrid urge
To reminisce yesterday vulgar purge
No contemplation, no desire to stop
You’re an animal now, of you trot

Seconds gone, minuets past,
Time wasting away, your body’s cast
The desolation, the carapace
Who are we now, this life is masked

The beauties within
Concealed with fear
Friends once, enemy’s dear

So who am I to pull the trigger,
The empowered soul, the only winner

The battle is dying, the crown the clearer
Goodbye bulimia, I’m having dinner.
