WARNING: Bulimia Purging In The Ocean is NOT a good idea! Here's why...

On holiday in Fiji after my
recovery - much happier times!

Bulimia purging wasn't difficult for me... I'd been bulimic for around 10 years and at the age of 19, forced vomiting could happen at the click of my fingers...

I have one bulimia purging story from this time that stands out in my head above all the others. When it happened I was horrified, disgusted, embarrassed and shocked...

But, looking back it now, I must say, I can't help but giggle!

My Embarrassing, wierd and er... Funny Bulimia Purging Story

I was on holiday with my boyfriend Tom. We were in the romatinc islands of Fiji... Spending our days lying in the sun, snorkelling and eating good food.

And, of course, behind the scenes, there was my bulimia purging...

One day after a gigantic lunch time bulimia binge, I was thinking about how I could sneak off to vomit without Tom noticing (he had no idea I was buimic)...

When suddenly, Tom grabbed me by the arm, with our snorkelling gear and dragged me into the water. Tom had decided spontaneously that it was the perfect time to go snorkelling. I couldn't have dissagreed more... but had no other option but to join him.

I decided that I would let Tom swim ahead of me - and I'd throw up in the water. My puke would quickly break up and get washed away without him noticing...

Or, so I thought...

The plan didn't work quite as well as I had imagined...

Here's why:

bulimia

Fiji has got some of the most amazing snorkalling in the world. Crystal clear water and millions upon millions of fish...

Fish, that it turns out, LOVE the taste of my puke!

The scond it came out of my mouth, I had hundreds of darting, rainbow coloured fish racing towards me...

They were swarming around me... fighting over little scraps of lettuce, chicken, and bread...

And, they just kept coming!

Of course, this kind of action couldn't go unnoticed... The ocean in front of Tom had become deviod of fish - which had all raced behind him...

He turned to see what was going on...

By this stage I had freaked out and was flapping and gasping and coughing for air... trying to swim away from the mob of hungry fish...

Tom followed after me - and I lied to him saying... I swallowed sea water and it made me puke!

He laughed... And we both stood there, waist deep in water, amazed at the spectacle going on all around us!

I was horrified at what was happening as a result of my bulimia purging. Even though Tom didn't know that the spew was caused by binging and purging... I was embarrassed and ashamed!

I made a firm decision never to throw up in the ocean again!

A Bulimia Life = A Complicated life
