Hi Maddy,

I am so sorry that you have experienced this scary thing... I know that bulimia is bad enough - let alone when you start having side effects like these.

Having blood in your vomit is an obvious sign that bulimia is damaging your body - and that you need to try work on recovering... (But I am sure you know this already) :)

Normally the blood will be caused by something called a Mallory Weiss tear which is a small tear in the lining of the esophagus. Most of the time, these heal on their own and are not life threatening... However, sometimes they can be dangerous (if they are very bad) so I'd definitely suggest going to your doctor to get checked up as soon as you can.

I wrote a little more about blood in vomit here... I hope you find it helpful :)

Let me know how you get on!
